For over 20 years, the Whipping Willow Association has spread and celebrated a diverse background of martial arts. With a clear vision that aims to seek out all that connects our art across cultures and experiences and to foster a student mindset that encourages continual growth, the Association is a hub for all martial arts, both combative and restorative.

2025 WINTER GATHERING – DECEMBER 5-7, 2025

Join us for a transformative 3-day intensive that brings together martial arts masters and students from around the world! This year’s 24th Annual Whipping Willow Gathering features healing (qi gong/nai gong & sound bath), combative training, and martial arts fundamentals. Don’t miss our annual Ohana dinner and kanikapila (jam session) on Saturday, December 6!

The Historical Preservation Group (HPG) is dedicated to preserving and sharing the art of martial arts through various multimedia channels. At the core of our mission is a commitment to creating compelling documentaries and instructional videos that promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of martial arts to a wider audience. We also maintain one of the largest collections of 8mm film archives on martial arts exclusively available through our organization.
